Boys Baseball – 2008 Shore Parochial League Southern Division- REGULAR SEASON UNDEFEATED CHAMPIONS (12 – 0).

Once again, as we have all season long, the entire team lineup contributed with great defense and timely hits

This week, it is likely we will play at home our first playoff game for the Parochial League Championship.. We love to see more fans come out and support us in our ENDEAVOR.

We had a great week last week, winning all 3 games played:

SCS v St. Peter – 8 -2
SCS v Sea Girt 14 – 2
SCS v St. Veronica 7 – 0

In the win against St. Peter, we had great pitching again by Billy Macomber, 5 Innings; gave up only I hit and struck out 10 batters. Key hits were by Bobby Byrne, Chris Reynolds, John Amato all had doubles, with Tom Amato going 3 for 4.

Thursday’s victory against Sea Girt was an offensive explosion, with multiple hit games by; Conor Leddy; John Amato, Jimmy Rockstedt; Chris Reynolds, Tyler Dwyer. Reynolds had a Home Run and 7 RBI’s; while John Amato drove in 5 Runs.

On Sunday afternoon 5/18, we capped off our undefeated regular season by defeating St. Veronica in a rained-soaked game. Great 4 innings pitched by Bobby Byrne, allowing 0 runs; only I hit and struck out 5 batters.

Saturday, 04/19 vs. St. Peter;  Won 1- 0

A real classic pitching dual. Bobby Byrne pitched 6 innings – allowing 0 runs; scattered 4 hits and struck out 9 batters. Offensively, Ryan Kennedy was the hero with an RBI single, which ended up being the only & winning run.

Thursday, 04/17 vs. St. Veronica; Won 19- 4.

Almost the entire team either got on base, scored a run or hit. Execellent pitching by Billy Macomber and Chris Reynolds had 5 hits including 2 doubles.

Saturday 04/12/08

SCS vs. Holy Innocents

Beat Holy Innocents 9-3. SCS controlled most of this game with excellent pitching from Chris Reynolds who was “Lights out” for 4 innings Allowed only 1 hit and 4 shut out innings, not allowing a run.

Backing Chris up pitching were Conor Leddy and J.K Thompson, who both only allowed Holy Innocents 1 hit each, with uor pitchers only allowing 3 total hits. Our key hitters were Pete Heilmann, Chris Reynolds and Bobby Byrne, with Bryne having 3 RBI’s in the game. Our defense put in a solid game again, with no errors and turned a double-play in the 4th inning.

Thursday 04/10/08

SCS vs. St. Al’s

A hard fought game by both teams, score going back and forth the entire game. Being the home team, we took the game into the bottom of the seventh, behind in the score by 6-5.

We were able to load the bases, had 2 outs, bottom of 7, when John Amato ripped a single into right-centerfield for the game winning hit. Great come-back win with our boys showing a lot of heart and faith as a team. Unfortunately, the game was suspended as a tie-score because of a technical oversight by the official. We just TCOB when we see them in two weeks at their field.

Once again good pitching by : Bobby Byrne; Billy Macomber and Chris Reynolds; with key hits by J. Amato, T. Amato, Bobby Bryne; Chris Reynolds, J.K Thompson, Pete Heilmann.
