	GENERAL COMMITTEES
	CLASS COORDINATORS PTA CHAIRPERSON: MONICA MARKOWSKI Each class requires two parents to serve as Class Coordinators for the school year. A Class Coordinator is a liaison between the parents and the teacher, assisting the teacher in any capacity necessary. The Class Coordinator arranges for treats for the children on several Treat Days throughout the school year. Class Coordinators may be asked to schedule Lunchroom and Playground volunteers for an assigned month during the school year. Class Coordinators are required to attend an organizational meeting on October 10, 2006. 	NEWSLETTER PTA CHAIRPERSONS: CLAIRE BORMIDA The SCS Happenings – The PTA Newsletter will be published on a monthly basis. It will highlight all PTA and school activities that have occurred during the prior month and will provide information about upcoming events.
	PROGRAMS PTA CHAIRPERSON: GWEN CAMPBELL The PTA sponsors 3 general assemblies for parents during the school year that discuss PTA business and present helpful topics about parenting issues. Programs are selected and scheduled in conjunction with the principal and vice principal. Additionally, throughout the year, programs that are age/grade appropriate are selected for the children and presented during school hours. These programs emphasize fun in learning.
	PUBLICITY COMMITTEE PTA CHAIRPERSONS: LYNN SMITH This committee works to coordinate public relations for school events, PTA activities and fundraisers. Volunteers are needed during school hours as well as functions to take photos
	HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE PTA CHAIRPERSON: ROSIE SHARKEY Volunteers are needed to coordinate the provision of refreshments, general set-up and clean up, etc., for PTA meetings and other PTA sponsored events. LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE PTA CHAIRPERSON: JOE LIDDY The PTA is an active participant of the New Jersey Alliance of Catholic School Families and Supporters. The committee works with the Alliance to inform parents of legislative issues that may affect Non-Public School Education. MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE PTA CHAIRPERSON: MONICA MARKOWSKI As a regional member of the Trenton Diocese Council of Parent Teacher Associations, the membership committee is required to register each family within our school with the Diocese. In the past, a small monetary amount was requested of each family in early September to cover the cost of this membership. For the 2006/2007 school year, the PTA will provide these funds and register every family in September. SPIRITUALITY COMMITTEE PTA CHAIRPERSON: NORA CONELLAN This committee works with the school community to further enhance the spiritual development of our students and families. Special activities are sponsored throughout the liturgical seasons of the year. SOCIAL CONCERNS COMMITTEE PTA CHAIRPERSON: Nancy Catlon St. Catharine School is dedicated to the community and world around us. The involvement of our students as well as our parents in community and global issues has become a very strong part of our PTA efforts. This committee responds to immediate needs as they arise as well as annual functions such as food drives, coat drives and Holiday Adopt-A-Family Programs.
